Sam Kench of Brickwall Pictures wrote, directed, shot and edited the short, experimental, black and white, horror film ‘Schlaflahmung‘, which first showed publicly at the Coolidge Corner Theatre’s Open Screen – the only open mic night for filmmakers in the Boston area.
The film was accepted into the Live Free or Die Film Festival and the Enzian Film Slam. Sam came up with the concept and started filming the summer before he left for Full Sail University in Winter Park Florida. He finished filming the short film when he came home to New Hampshire over Christmas break.
The short film features hauntingly beautiful images taken around Newfound Lake and other areas of central New Hampshire including Bristol, Plymouth and Danbury.
‘Schlaflahmung‘ captures an abstract vision of a nightmare and won the Spirit of the Festival award at the Live Free or Die Film Fest.
